Ideas for Creating a Multi-Level Platform for Small Apartment?

Good Questions

Q: Hi, Apartment Therapy! I'll be moving to Paris this fall (for a Masters degree) and will likely end up living in a small studio apartment. In Paris, a 20 square meter (roughly 215 square feet) is a "reasonable" sized space, which means I will need to get creative:

I found photos of this apartment, which makes 130 square feet look absolutely glorious (except for the lack of a closet to hang dresses wrinkle-free). Since I will be renting, I'm wondering if there's a way to create that second floor above the base floor out of wood, so that I could build it myself and then take it out when I need to move out. Or perhaps there is a name for this kind of double layer room or floor. If so could you point me in the direction of any resources that could help with this project?
