I began preparing for the holidays earlier this week by cleaning out the refrigerator and food cabinets and taking stock of my baking supplies. As I checked labels for expiration dates and began placing only those unexpired items back where they belong (post-clean pictured above), I was so surprised by how much food and how many condiments had gone bad in the past few months. I cook a lot, so I kept asking myself...
...How did I let so many food items go bad? I felt such GREEN GUILT as I emptied expired items and recycled their containers. What a giant waste!
