Today feels like the perfect day for a picnic. We were thrilled and surprised to wake up to a crisp, cool morning after all the sticky, steamy heat from the past few days. Typically for picnicking, we kind of throw things together in bags and a small cooler...we don't really have proper "gear." What are your must-haves for dining in the grass or at the beach?
We just found this great picnic basket online from Ten Thousand Villages (bamboo and split cane handmade in Bangladesh; it sells for $44).
Tell us about some other great picnic items you can't live without!

We had a basket like that but we got rid of it in favor of the Reisenthel Picnic Carrybag... easier to store and doubles as a shopping carry all. We take it to Ravinia, the lake front and camping. Tomorrow we are headed to a fun outdoor eating event: Green City Market's Chefs' Summer BBQ Festival

For wedding gifts, I now give the the picnicback (check out picnicworld.net) for a great selection of reasonably priced packs and accessories. These packs hold up really well!

I just use my grocery cart. It has sturdy wheels and let me really pack it with stuff. Baskets are way too heavy when filled.
