The fun (and sometimes infuriating) part of setting up a new home is figuring out how to utilize the unique nooks and crannies of your space — in our case the greatest puzzle is this narrow 1-foot by 3-foot space between our shower and the bathroom wall.

We were so inspired by the creative adaptation of awkward spaces by Jen & Rob and Sarah & Steve in their house tours this week that we decided to tackle our own trouble spot.

But we’re stumped. Not only is it ridiculously long and skinny, but there is less than a foot of clearance between the sink and the “alleyway” (as we’ve taken to calling it). We’re managing to groove with the retro green tiles, but we just can’t get over this narrow nook conundrum.

So we’re asking Apartment Therapy readers: do you have any suggestions for a creative use of our bathroom alleyway?

What awkward space solutions have you come up with in your own homes?
