Q: I caught an episode of How I Met Your Mother called "Definitions" the other day, and spotted a mirror in Robin's room that I would really like to have. All search combinations of "How I Met Your Mother mirror" that I've tried turn up page after page of sketchy looking mirrored video streams. I was hoping one of your readers might know a source, or at least the name/brand/designer?

If you do a google search for "long octagonal mirror," it comes back with several similar options. This one has an oval shaped mirror, but the outside edge is still in a shape similar to what you're looking for.

If you're handy with tools, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to build and you can get a glass shop to cut a mirror in the shape you want.
I own that mirror! My brother gave it to me so I'm not sure where he got it, but if he remembers I'll be sure to pass the information along.
Alright, my sister might be the biggest HIMYM fan ever... so, the text I just sent her reads: "The mirror in Robin's bedroom from when she shared an apt w/ Ted... Someone on Apt Thrpy is looking for it. You know you can help with this."
She'll be searching if she gets bored at all today, and will probably have an answer by the time she goes home from work.
Thanks, bodice_goddess! I will second your opinion.
oould come from here: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/hexagon-mirror . But it's sold out, sorry.
Here are some hexagonal mirrors that you can use as a substitute:

When I first saw the image, it looked like it was a long rectangular mirror that wrapped around the corner. (the top image at first, quick, glance). That could also be interesting. ;)
Ok - I checked with my brother. He got it at a store in DC years ago (called Homebody - an awesome store that everyone should check out if you're in the District!). I'll look on the back of the mirror to see if it has any brand markings on it.
Probably something that could be easily made -- have the mirror cut for you and then either build or have someone handy with wood build the frame and stain it.
Thanks for that, ElectricKatie! It's not so much about "boredom" as it is about "down time." :D
It really depends on what kind of a look you're going for with that mirror. It does kick ass, but there's a couple different elements to take into account. There's the hex shape, and the oak frame.
I couldn't find anything with both, but I found a mirror on the Minneapolis craigslist site that definitely fits with Ted and Robin's style.

You could certainly go with themoderngal's suggestion of having one made - that's for sure. It's a great idea if you're going for the exact look.
But if you're going for the "vibe," find something close but not exact. Hit craigslist in your area and see what you can find - you might be surprised!
@ StilettoPeel, I thought the same thing! and thought it was a cool idea, will be sketching it out tonight and when I get a chance I'll build it and document the process ;)
I have Marshal and Lily's MCM coffee table, whoever staged the sets did a great job!
Just checked, and the mirror is by Boom (http://www.2modern.com/Boom). Hope it helps!
