How Often Do You Wash Your Water Bottle?

We took a swig from our Sigg the other other morning, and noticed the water didn't taste so fresh. It had been a couple of days since we last washed it. How often do you clean yours?

We usually do a quick rinse everyday, then refill it. We only scrub with a bottle brush a couple times a week. We don't want to waste the soap or water, and...maybe we're a little lazy. But then we start to worry about hygiene. How often do you wash yours?

I'd wash it at every other day. I've become ill drinking old water (put a clean water bottle next to an old one that had water in it for jebus knows how long).

You're not really wasting water, since you are rinsing it everyday and you're saving water if you tend to dump it if it's not fresh tasting.

I have a water bottle on my desk that I drink out of every day. I bet I haven't washed out in....oh....probably a month or two? I should probably get on that...

Cleaning something you are eating from is not wasting water.

We run them through the dishwasher every time it runs which is usually daily.

Every couple of days, probably. I am not concerned about cleaning it more regularly. I also don't wash my water glass after every glass either.

Once a week usually and I do the same with glasses or cups that I drink water out of. I think the only time I'd worry about washing my water bottle out sooner than that is if something other than water was inside it.

I haven't washed my Nalgene in two years, now that I think of it... and I use it daily.

I pour boiling water in it every few days to rinse it out.

Wow... Same as Gexx, although my Sigg has been in use for only about a year, and I think I've washed it once. I do make sure to empty it out every night and air dry...

I'm disgusting. What an eye opener... I know what I'm doing when I get home from work!
