ant-ps3.jpgIf you have a Sony Playstation 3 and an A/V receiver with HDMI 1.1 and up, you now have the option to tap into the console's new DTS-HD option. With a few clicks of a button, crisp 7.1 sound from your Blu-ray movies can be finally coming your way.

  1. Upgrade to the latest firmware 2.3.

  2. Set BD/DVD Audio Output Format (HDMI) to Linear PCM.

  3. Set Sound output to HDMI/Linear PCM 5.1/7.1.

While playing the movie, press the Triangle button on your controller to verify you are indeed playing in "DTS-HD HR" or "DTS-HD MA" mode. Also, your receiver must be in the correct mode to receive such a signal, so consult your user manual to make sure all of the settings are correct. That's it! Enjoy your new DTS-HD sound!
