We spotted this simple and functional kitchen table-turn-console table on Area Interior Design’s site and felt that it was a great "how to" idea for your own space. There are wonderful benches and simple tables these days. When stacked, organized and moved a bit, these furniture pieces can create both a useful console table and a functioning kitchen table in the same space.
Aside from saving space, mixing materials and colors can also be a great way to anchor a space by using color and texture inspired by your room accents. With a little thought, a measuring tape and an open mind, here are some bench and table options that can be mixed and matched to create a stackable and organized space saving design.

This is pretty much exactly what I need for a crafting space in a bedroom!
And me for a sewing table in my kitchen--heck, maybe even a dining spot.
What a great idea--will take lots of measuring and shopping to execute.
Where did they get the green board BEHIND the table though!! EXACTLY what I was looking for!!

The board looks like it would be pretty easy to make using fabric, ribbon, and fuseable (sp?) tape and a bulletin board. You wouldnt even need to sew!
What I like about it that it appears to be a mix of vintage and mod style modern in the same space.
However, I do have a feeling it may be a newly remodeled space in an older building though.
I lived in a mid to late 20's era studio with it's original light fixture and cabinets, the counters and appliances had been updated over the years and had been painted all white and I'd have loved to have put up a very cool red to yellow supergraphic desing on all four walls and added a bright red suspended industrial tubed florescent light fixture to the ceiling, plugging it into the socket of the original fixture. :-)
must say i like the inspiration custom one the best. very clean.
brilliant and nicely executed
