Q: I recently found this great table but unfortunately it's missing a piece of trim around the edge. I sanded it down a bit so it wouldn't scratch any legs but it's still missing something. Should I keep sanding or add a trim? What kind of trim should I add and how would I go about adding it?

It's hard to tell from your picture what is missing. It looks like you could just stain the lighter part to match the rest of the table and it would be fine.
iron-on veneer edging?
Brass edging would look snazzy. Is there a groove on the edge of the table?
I like the idea of brass edging or (what I would probably do) fill the edge, sand it smooth and paint it black.
I have a similar Baker coffee table that was abused by its former owner and left for dead in the trash room. I rescued it but need help bring it back to life. It is missing a substantial amount of trim and the table is heavily faded and scratched. HELP!
Veneer edging, as has already been said.
I have a similar project that the veneer is too far gone on. Sanded it the best I could then painted it black. Still doesn't look great so I am going to silver leaf it. That might look great for this table.
Paint it white! I've been loving the posts of wood with white details.
I'm one of those who has a hard time painting wood, but more and more that attitude is changing.
If you want to go white, check out this beautiful idea on the homepage of this site.
It's the white low table on that bottom strip of pictures. You wouldn't even really need to paint your table. Just paint the veneer design. They're called O'verlays. What a great idea. I think I even found it here on AT, but I hunted and couldn't find it again. Finally found it by googling O'verlays.
Please don't paint it! I can see painting furniture that has no value and too much damage; this can be restored with edge banding. Even sanding and painting the edge a dark brown would work if you don't want to do more.
