How To Improve View from Entryway?

Good Questions

Q: I have a 6'x2' closet in my entryway, blocking the view of my dining area in my new condo. While I like the idea of having some sort of entryway storage, I really don't like that the giant closet is blocking the view of the dining room (which has a beautiful brick wall and a built-in. I was thinking of replacing it with a closet half the size, with top and bottom cubby holes for displays. But I can't quite picture how that would turn out:

• The first photo is the view from the entry, taken from the doorway.
• The second photo is a sideview of the closet and dining room, showing built-in (taken from the living room).
• The third photo is a floor plan of the condo.

What can I do to improve the view from this entryway?
