White Enamel Four-P...
or you could just buy a premade one for about the same price... coffee break sticker
seriously how many how to's are we going to get on how to paint with chalkboard paint...it freaking says that on the back of the can
Enough with the chalkboard!
why are so many people painting things with chalkboard paint??? it is one of the worst feeling surfaces known to man. chalk feels worse. its dusty, screechy, and dry. i don't see the attraction at all.
going up to write on the blackboard in school was the worst feeling in the world. partly because i never knew the answers, but more the feeling of the chalk and chalkboard. eeewwwwwwwwww.
HAS AT JUMPED THE SHARK?!?!?! EVERY WEEK A SILLY "ARTICLE" ABOUT THE AMAZING CHALKBOARD PAINT. THAT AND AN ALMOST SLAVISH DEVOTION TO THE ALL-STARS OF MCM. OH, AND THE READERS SEEKING ADVISE AND RECEIVING "FLOATING SHELF" AND "FRAMED MIRROR" AND "PICTURE GROUPING" FROM ARM CHAIR "DESIGNERS" OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!! UGH, THIS SITE IS GETTING STALE.
messy.
Ok, so I guess this makes me "gauche", but I just did the exact same thing in my kitchen last Saturday. Minus the JT jams, but I still love it. Then again, though, I am a big list maker and this just fuels my obsession. ;)
@parttimedesign - bad day, much? Relax, and remember that your caps key also has an off button. It's only Wednesday after all...
For those of us who love to place ART in and around our crazy world....this project for the kitchen is Art Therapy. I love it! Bring on the chalkpaint and the JT tunes!
Great Idea, throw some more light on the wall
simon....
Not bad for a Bears Fan! Looks great wit the space given.
Whatever... if you like chalkboard paint then use it, yes this site has posted A LOT about it but that is not the home owners fault so just give a opinion about their personal space not what you think about chalkboard paint in general and Apt.Therapy's general performance lately.
I personally don't think I would use this much in the kitchen, I see chalkboard paint being used in areas where you need to get out ideas or areas where people gather so they can have fun with it. Seems like you plan to only update it for holidays, so it could work. I would suggest finding those other fun colors, I don't think the black is working.
I love it Audrey girl! You got my vote lady!!!!! love ya, Julie
geezez people lighten up! me thinks some people are on the wrong site and need to work on thier ANGER here lol
anyway-
I think it looks FUN
I may even consider making a wall for me and my grandchildren to have fun with!
"remember if you aint laughin you aint livin!"
hugs from the bird ;)
I thought decorating homes was my call and you were to sell them! You do good on the other side of the fence too. Too many folks here are way too hard on you and/or the technique you chose. It's all good and I'll bet you had fun doing it too.
Looks great!
Hilarious. If we could harness the energy being wasted painting chalkboard walls we could save 100,000 gallons of oil, 17 acres of trees, and 1000 eye-sight repair operations annually.
Listen, if we're not here to talk about great design, then what are we doing here?
Painting with chalkboard paint (as was mentioned above) is not earth-shattering, and painting with chalkboard paint so that you can REPLICATE A LOGO FROM FRIENDS is even less original.
I agree with RalphEMole...this being classified under "How To" is ridiculous. Why don't you teach us to paint with regular latex?
That said, remind me not to send AT pics of my new chalkboard wall.
Pretty Perk!!
The annoying thing about chalkboard paint is that once you start erasing you will always have a clouded look that never looks as crisp as the just-painted-never-wiped-chalk-off look.
But that's all there is. I had to make chalkboards recently (for work related purposes) and I saw the chalk paint in all the other fun colors. I was tempted but didn't bite since it required some extra time in going to get it tinted. But they are available.
It is just so funny to see how many people have no life that they need to go to posts they don't like to post a negative comment. If you don't like it, move on and that's it.
Thanks for taking the time to post this and there are people who does like chalkboard paint.
This article is not a buy a premade board and hang it wherever you want. It is a how to "paint" it.
It is so NOT messy if you are not a nasty person and keep it clean and neat. There are chalk pens so you don't have it all over your fingers.
Sad to notice how many sad and closed minded people there are.
@ BabyBlueBurden; I think you got the wrong post. This is not the "Who has the most original logo" post.
Gezz! Lighten up people!!! Anger management classes!!!
