How to: Last Minute Gumdrop Wreath

How to: Last Minute Gumdrop Wreath

My home wasn't quite festive enough, so I threw together this gumdrop wreath. It was a fairly quick project, and I like it so much I'm afraid it might become a permanent fixture! Well, at least I'll bring it back out for Easter.

Here are the directions for a similar (some might say classier) wreath from Martha Stewart. This is the one I had in mind, but I didn't follow the directions to the T... just the basics:

Styrofoam Wreath Form
Florist's Wire
Gumdrops (2 18 oz bags covered the front of a 12" wreath form)
Toothpicks
Decorative Ribbon

I also added some clear duct tape around the wreath form under the wire loop so it wouldn't pull through. Once all the gumdrops are added it gets pretty heavy!

Cut your toothpicks in half and go to town! It took a bit of work to keep it random looking. Just be sure to fit the gumdrops together as snugly as possible so you don't see through to the foam.
