How To: Make a Quilted Crib Rail Guard

Pin it button big

Got Teething? Give your baby something to munch on that will both protect your crib and safeguard him or her from splinters, paint or varnish. We came across this excellent tutorial for making your own quilted crib rail guard over at Sew, Mama, Sew's Tutorial Contest and wanted to share it with you. Don't have the time, inclination or sewing skills to make your own? No problem, the tutorial author sells custom ones, too.

Mother of a little boy who has recently transformed into a teething beaver and author of the blog, New England Quilter, provides step-by-step instructions for making your own quilted guard. Even beginning sewers should find this very do-able with her clear writing and photographs.

If you'd rather purchase one instead, you can find them in her Etsy shop. She is currently offering the one in the photo above for $26, but will be happy to custom make one for you based on your crib's dimensions and your aesthetic.
