10122008outdoorfire.jpgJust because it’s getting colder doesn’t mean you need stay indoors. Michelle Kaufmann, the brains behind the mkLotus and the Smart Home, has devised an inexpensive and environmentally friendly way to stay warm outside with an eco outdoor fire.

The system is similar to the modern indoor EcoSmart fireplace Stephanie saw at West Coast Green. Unlike traditional wood burning firepits that pullute the air, this system uses clean burning EcoFuel, which is environmentally friendly and 100% biodegradable. Even better is it's cheap - each fuel canister costs just a few dollars.

All You'll Need:

  • 2-3 cans of EcoFuel

  • A large good looking metal or ceramic planter box

  • River rocks or other nice stones
