It can be tricky to get kids to sort though their toys and when push comes to shove, there comes a point where the collection needs to be thinned down. Instead of listening to sobs and tears, try a impromptu toy photoshoot to say goodbye in style — you can even keep a scrapbook as you go!
Although it seems silly, it's a great way for kids to keep a memory of the toys that have gone to good homes and families (if they were donated) and be able to have a piece of them forever. Get creative and toss them in your bag if you go to the beach, or on the train on your way to the doctor's office. Either way, your kids are sure to get a giggle out of it and the'll be ok with hanging onto a photo instead of the toy itself. Plus, by the time they're 20, it'll make a pretty great coffee table book!

White Enamel Flatwa...
I started teaching my kids how to declutter around the house before I set them to decluttering their own stuff. It is always so much easier to declutter other folks stuff than your own - so they learnt the skill on stuff that wasn't theirs!!! Here's a post I wrote on it.

These pictures are making me cry!
The photo idea is ingenius!
Im gonna have to do this with my little brothers, they'll love the idea, and its a great way to get rid of the old toys they've been piling up, especially since were moving!
