No good deed goes unpunished. A few years ago we decided to put our massive cd collection in binders - it freed up much valuable shelf space, but then we were left with hundreds of empty cd jewel cases - which wound up, empty, back on the shelf. We've been surreptitiously leaving them around the workplace where they have a chance of being used, but we've been otherwise stumped with how to responsibly dispose of them. Photojojo, the home of much photo goodness, has one easy, stylish answer.
A tutorial in fact. A video tutorial in fact. Turn your empty cd cases into photo frames. They've chosen some abstract images, but you could also choose family photographs or kids' artwork cut to size. We especially like how easy it is to change the images.

To my surprise, it turns out you can sell empty CD jewelcases on craigslist. It blew me away. I might do the photo thing for a dozen or so cases, but for hundreds?
hhmmm, i always put them in with the recycling. can you not recycle them? maybe it was wrong of me to do that :(
I also turn the polaroid 600 film container thing that I pull out of the camera when empty into a handy frame for, you guessed it, a polaroid of that same size. Very handy, and its open design enables it to hang directly onto a nail without additional modification!
