Some people hate wrapping presents. To us, it's one of the best traditions of the holiday season—we put on some tunes, sip some cocoa, and wrap, wrap, wrap. We'll admit, there is one problem with wrapping: if you don't do it right, it can waste a lot of paper.
That's why we were determined to find a good tutorial for making gift bows from scrap paper. We've got paper galore in our paper recycling box. And really, a gift without a bow is a naked gift.
So we finally landed on this tutorial over at How About Orange. It's perfect because the bows look just like the ones mom used to buy from Hallmark, and you can make them out of any kind of scrap paper.
We're excited to try the process out this holiday season.

My mom used to have (well, probably still has in her craft room but who could find it...) this cool bow maker.
It was a circle with pegs sticking up and a peg in the center. You put a push-pin in the center peg and then pushed the ribbon onto that. As you looped it around all the outer pegs, it kept going back onto the push pin and then at the end you cut the ribbon from the spool and attached that.
It made a perfect bow and you could then pin it onto your gift!
