This is an awesome idea for using beautiful, unique plates you might inherit, find or salvage. We've seen scads of beautiful wall-mounted plate displays, but stick a round mirror in the center and it becomes something different altogether.

We have to admit, though, that Craftynest hit the jackpot with these particular plates, and we've not found any as pretty as these.
Read the complete instructions for making the mirrors on Craftynest.

Nomade Express Slee...
Is that Jesus?
can't see the plates because I'm too distracted looking at Jesus and how he looks like he's going to make out with that child.
That's the Marlboro Man, not Jesus!
Or, maybe it's the Marlboro Man AS Jesus.
i think this is a cute idea
i am not too fond of those plates/mirros, but that Jesus picture really is horrible :-D
I think it's cute too. I like it.
Only lately have I begun to realize how many of the vintage Jesus pics I saw in Sunday school have surprisingly.... er.... sultry undertones. Run, Jane! Run, Tom! Run, Spot! Run, run, run!
The dishes? Yeah, kinda fugly.
Jesus looks really ticked off, I think he's going to throttle the child. The mirrors are dead ugly too.
i don't think the jesus picture is horrible.
i think it's hilarious!
& this is a cute idea, you just need some cuter plates - I think I'll give it a try this weekend
- jess
Thanks all - I needed a chuckle :)
i like them! very cool
Since there seems to be a lot of err... interest... in the Jesus picture I thought I would point out the blog this project comes from has a link to where it is available:

Jesus = Hot.
Dimestore Chip and Dip nee Mirror = Not.
I once visited a home that reserved the guest bath for tacky plastic Jesus stuff, one of the best additions was a baby Jesus figure inside the guest soap, it was a hoot!
I thought it was Cornelius from Planet of the Apes.
is "jesus" going to kiss the child or eat it... i'm confused.
I guess Jesus really does love the little children, either that or he wants their heads for craft projects.
I'm sorry, but I'm undecided as to which look tackier... the picture (he IS throttling that kid, isn't he! Is that what's meant by suffer little children...?) or those plates, especially as the plates would look better on the wall without the nasty mirror tiles defacing them! Each to their own, I suppose...
clever idea... and thank you for adding that picture of Jesus. the picture and the comments caused me to do a lot of thinking
So glad I'm not the only one who thought the plates were, in the words of a friend, "not so much."
As to Jesus - I never thought of this picture that way, but the comments were priceless! Thanks for the laugh.
We had that exact same picture in my house when I was growing up! A HUGE framed one. My mom got it because the kids look exactly like me, my brother and sister, and my cousin that lived with us. I was the one that Jesus is about to kiss. LOL!
