Any significant redesign of popular services like Facebook or Gmail is going to bring a percentage of naysayers hating change. I personally thought the most recent upgrade to Gmail's UI was a big jump forward, but apparently some people still want yesterday's more information compact (or cluttered, depending upon your perspective) user interface. The transformation requires the following steps, all which eliminate the more minimalist-open feel of the redesign:
- Change display density to Compact
- Change theme to High Contrast
- Set Importance markers to "No markers"
- Change Button labels to Text
- Disable "web clips"
