Although we're not a big fan of antibacterial products, there are times when hand sanitizer is better than nothing. But rather than the chemical laden versions, why not try and make your own?
Ingredients:
¼ cup of pure aloe vera gel
¼ cup of grain alcohol
5 drops of tea tree essential oil.
5 drops of your favorite fragrance oil (optional)
Mix all ingredients together and transfer to a small, portable container.

There are other recipes for hand sanitizer out there... Does this one leave a greasy residue like they do?
Looks good, but as written, it will NOT sanitize effectively: it needs to be at least 60% alcohol to sanitize.

Cool, I never even considered making my own. I dislike how so many hand sanitizers contain some sort of moisturizer. They don't seem to keep well, and I end up with this gummy moisturizer residue in my hands.
Our Hand Wash is not 60% alcohol and it does just as well as the alcohol-based chemical hand sanitizers in laboratory tests. In fact it was approved for sale in Europe (where the testing was done) as anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It can make the "99%" claim using pure essential oils.

I have used these without the need for alcohol which can dry and irritate the skin. Mix essential oils with aloe and water in tinted glass spray bottle. Shake and spray on hands.
