I may have mentioned before, but I'm not particularly crafty or handy. But this finished lamp is so glamorous, and the steps from Design*Sponge so straightforward, it had me googling where I could get foam core at 11pm (answer: in Boston, nowhere).
So I wasn't exactly X-acto-ing my own marquee letter last night, but that didn't stop me from dreaming up a few ideas on how to display the finished product. Besides the chic letter-on-the-mantle, lit marquees would look great as an "EAT" sign in the kitchen, a fun way to personalize a kid's room, or as the coolest Oscar party decorations ever. Think of the possibilities!

White Enamel Four-P...
Foam core + christmas lights = fire hazard
That is awesome! I would probably have my friend weld me a C (because boston_kat seems right about the fire hazard bit), but still.
This version seems a lot less fire-hazard-y, even if it would take more time.
I bet it would be safer if you used LED lights!
Uhh, if you read it they are not Christmas lights, they are LED bulbs that are probably 3x the size of Christmas lights and round.
Very cool!
