If you or your spouse attends events or conferences with any regularity you've probably accumulated a bunch of event badges. I hate throwing them out, but can never seem to think of anything to use them for afterward. Well, I had a V-8 moment recently for a simple, functional use if you have a toddler at home.
Mitten clips! I know, the earth probably didn't just shake under you, but this will be put to good use in my house this winter. This doesn't really require "instructions" so let's just proceed with a show and tell...
What You Need
lanyard with clip-on event badgetoddler mittens
Instructions
1. Remove the plastic badge holder by unclipping each end.
2. Thread the lanyard through the arms of your child's coat.
3. Clip lanyard ends to mittens.
4. If it's too long, tie a loop on each end or cut and sew the lanyard to make it your preferred length.
5. You're done!
Additional Notes: We'd love to hear your ideas for what to do with an event badge after the event.
[Editor's note: This post was originally published on 2/19/10 but it's nearing mitten season and we thought it would be useful to readers who missed it the first time!]

Shaw's Original Fir...
Actually this is a good idea, as I have not been able to find mitten clips since they are a strangulation hazard, but are still useful for an older toddler or older school child
Great mitten clips can be found through this company.
