Maybe it's because we live in a college town -- but, at certain times of year, there are used drawers and dressers on every corner. Here's a smart modular storage unit, constructed from salvaged drawers.
Elsewhere: A squishy, moss bath mat, a yellow page cardholder, utility bills that compare you with your neighbor, and a survey: is the recession making you more or less green (or neither)? All the links are after the jump.![]()
Green with envy (or guilt)? Would knowing how you measure up to your neighbors inspire you to conserve more energy?
Here's a great project: All you need is one of those phone books you have lying around. We've probably got 15 if you need one.
A quick survey: Is the recession making you greener ... or less green?
This bath mat is green and squishy between your toes.

Hmmm, it would be nice to see the shelves there put to work storing something useful instead of serving as a display piece.
I love the drawers idea... I'll definitely put it to use.
The people in front of my dumped all their kitchen drawers in our common area. Maybe I will try this. it looks really nice.
I have seen that before and think its a really cute and simple idea. We have one of those antique printer's type tray drawers hung in our kitchen to display a dice collection. Kind of the same concept. And an old coke crate as a display. I'm all about cubbies, maybe thats why I like the drawer idea so much! Pictures here:
