Q: Advice please! Our old apartment was dark and full of rich color. Now we're in a sunny place and I'm flummoxed about fabrics. We need to re-upholster the settle and window seat, and recover the throw pillows.
Fabric (slipcovers, except leather) needs to be washable (we have a preschooler), not too modern or Victorian. Green leather settle seat will go, probably replaced with brown leather, but open to ideas.
I bought (and love) French ticking linen pillows, but fear it fights style-wise with the Arts & Crafts furniture.
Would a more neutral rug (camel/golds) allow for lighter beiges and creams and golds to work or should we keep the rug and stick to rich colors, as is traditional with Arts & Crafts furniture?
