Years lived in: 8 years — own
Welcome to the home of Howard Bragman and his husband Chuck O'Donnell. Tucked way up off Mulholland, they share a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house complete with a pool and high vaulted ceilings. Howard is the founder of Fifteen Minutes, a renowned Public Relations firm, where he works hard representing the upper echelon of clients and companies. At home he enjoys a local retreat complete with comfy couches, collected art and adorable puppies. Howard's home was introduced to me by LA Designer Landon Cole, who had a hand in most of the furnishings.
Each room is colorful, lived in, and embellished with memorabilia of family and loved ones. I was especially enamored with his collection of photography, which lines the main hallway connecting the bedrooms. His pool and patio are a little oasis dedicated to full rest and relaxation, with many cushioned lounge chairs and tables — perfect for a day off or a Sunday barbecue. This home felt welcoming, comfortable and very private.
When Howard furnished his home, he had decorating cues and custom furniture designed at Landon Cole's LA showroom. For instance the chairs in the library, which were purchased and specially upholstered to suit the room. Landon also explained that a custom platform king sized bed designed to fit the master bedroom. You can see an awesome example of the cabinetry that Landon assisted with as well, in the mini bar off the family room.
Enjoy!

I love your "Lust Can't Hide" poster in the bathroom! Where did you get it?
I love the USA made out of license plates. And the adorable dogs, too, of course. A house just isn't a home without pets!
Helluva house. If I were loaded, this would be my weekend chillax house. Looks rejuvinating.
freaking awesome library. just what I imagine a wildly successful LA industry couple's house to look like
Is that a fireplace next to the tub? *swoon*
Don't get me wrong, I love beautiful homes in general, but isn't a 4,000 square foot home owned by a PR executive/founder kind of far afield from APARTMENTtherapy's core focus?
Agree with Thomcat. This is a great space, but it is decidedly not in keeping with the "Apartment" Therapy concept. That said, I want to be sprawled out at poolside with a gimlet.
Room for room this house has the best ceilings of any tour I can recall. Very handsome. I agree with Howard's comment on comparing one's home to a luxury hotel. Really don't want to live in an anonymous space. Thank you for the tour.
Haha... that dog with the dark ears is funny. In the first photo he looks a little offended and goes off the the bedroom and then in the second picture he's are all like "for cryin out loud"
...sorry for the creepy I-like-to-make-dogs-talk thing. Nice house.
I just died of envy. Those book shelves....
Does anyone know where you can get a LIFE Magazine canvas like that?
I like the bookshelves and the subtle minty green of the fireplace but there's an awful lot of very ORANGE wood going on in that house.
Great house, adorable dogs.
if you want me to hang out by your pool, I will.
love that you shared your house. what a palace! my only comment is that the LIFE military planes kinda kill the 'zen' vibe.
Such an interesting US map/license plate sculpture. Who is the artist?
Guys, you are overindulging those terriers a little. Too many treats!
Fabulous house. Love the personality, the artwork, the comfort of it.
Hatin' on the commentors that rant every time the space is over 10 feet square. Folks, if you can't find something to inspire you in these spaces, would you please just go away? I like the change-ups between large and small and the way all homes make me think differently about mine.
Apt Therapy - keep the content coming. I thank you for all your hard work and the fact that you share it with us.
Gorgeous. Nice to peek into an LA couples home. Unlike other comments, I don't care what the square footage is-I enjoy all homes featured here and it's a breath of fresh air. I do agree with the comment on " too much orangey" woodwork and repeated in the leather and throw pillows.
Love those dogs. They look very happy to live in this house.
Thanks again, you really outdid yourself on this one, MANSION THERAPY. Get real, please.
Hey, it may be a tour of a big place, and I get it if some people aren't for that, but those bookshelves are SO WORTH IT.
AT - I love that you include larger spaces now and again - there is so much inspiration to be gained from a place like this.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! This is exactly the style my husband wants our place to be (ok so we are in a rental and aren't allowed to do anything to it), but it is precisely what he wants to do. And I have been saying "no way, I need more girlyness".
You heard it here first. I was wrong, he was right.....this place is perfection. Oh to come home to bookshelves like that. And the loungeroom. Oh wow! I love the lamps, and the artwork. Wow!!!!! Perfection!
Oh - and the pool, and the glassware in your bar, and the bath and fire place.....wow!
yeah give it up! It may be interesting to see how people can maximize 35 sq feet, but to get inspiration, why choose the space so small that the microwave is on the nightstand or something? It's ok to look at different spaces, sheesh.
AT, if you'd like to put out a Mansion Therapy, I'd read it. I truthfully scan over all the super duper small spaces anyway.
I was wondering where I can find the floating picture shelf in the hallway that has different framed photos on it? Is there a source?
Love the dogs!
The bookcases in the library (that's what I'm calling it) are fabulous. I dig your outdoor spaces.
I've seen the owner on CNN many times and not surprised to see his relaxed, friendly decorating style - and love the dogs who seem very relaxed and happy - love the kitchen and living room.
Like, like and more like! Wonderful home! Love that master bath sink!
Really really dislike like your last painting of "colored" waiter. Was expecting collection of little sambos in next pic. Grateful collection was finished.
Awesome. What a sight for sore eyes. GREAT design for grown-ups; let's see more of these well-edited and beautifully curated spaces.
Not those outrageous sloppy, over-stuffed, kiddie-carnival types of homes that look like the inside of a junk shop. ENUF!
Just Great!
A new favorite of mine!
This is my ideal house. It feels cosy, like a ski chalet, but then there's the fantastic pool area. I love the bar, too. Oh, and the dogs, of course.
Another proof that money can't buy taste.
They seem to have spelled out one of the houses that sit somewhere in the back of my skull. Maybe it's the 70's feeling, I don't know, but somehow they did.
Zen? There's is nothing Zen about the decor in this home. I did enjoy the tour, though, and I do like to see the odd big fancy house in AT.
They sure picked an ugly day to shoot this place--the outdoor spaces are stunning but the gray skies really detract from the photos.
Unfortunately, there is almost nothing here I can use as inspiration for my 1200-square-foot house with two teenagers and 180 pounds of dog. I just wish AT would put this kind of post into a special "house porn" section so I don't go into them thinking there will be something to relate to my modest lifestyle.
The bookshelves and fireplace are great but the rest is, well, what CanadianMango said. The art is meh/ugh, the furniture choices, meh... The pictures above the bed are crooked, the Kodak film box labeled "Marilyn" is trying too hard... I'll stop now.
Love the house! Love the library!
I love this funky and unpretentious house.
Wow, such harsh comments (though I'm sure Mr Bragman couldn't care less, and is simply enjoying his fabulous home). His philosophy that a house should not resemble a luxury hotel (or boutique hotel, for that matter) is so true.
Oh my god, I'm in love.
