Ikea hacks on steroids.
Splatgirl in Minnesota has what we'd call mad skills.
As detailed elsewhere on AT earlier this month, she is designing and outfitting a "loft house" in Minnesota in high modern-industrial style, and she generously shares pictures of her progress as well as sources and directions.
We love this post, in which she creates a sexy-yet-practical storage vanity for her guest bathroom on the cheap. This industrial organic piece is a combination of Ikea's PS Cabinet, a slab of their butcher block, a simple porcelain basin from Mico ceramic, a faucet from eBay, and, pipes and valves that she plumbed herself.

Brilliant! And based on the instructions, not that hard to do.
