Name: Hunter
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
I am graphic designer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I purchased this house (first time homebuyer) two months ago, and have buried myself in painting, refinishing, and DIY projects (a lot that I picked up from this site) everyday since. The house for the most part is finally complete.
My inspiration comes from the work I do where classic style meets bold colors. The challenges I faced with the space was number a limited budget, things had to be reused, recycled, and done myself. Also, the majority of the furniture came with the home, so putting my personal touch to things was priority number one. Refinishing furniture, painting the walls, etc. made this little garden house a home.
Thanks, Hunter!

Loving the grey walls!
This is beautifully-done. I love the palette you chose.
The greys are warm, like soft flannel.
congratulations on doing so much work in only 2 months! i moved in to my house about a month ago and haven't finished unpacking, never mind hanging anything on the walls.. well done!
I love the greys! What shades specifically did you use? I also love the big clock.
Well done! Your style strikes an admirable balance between cozy and sleek. I think I speak for others when I say: more pix, please!
Yes--more pictures. The grays are wonderful. You have a good eye.
the greys look great, esp. in the bathroom contrasting with white. i love the wire baskets & just may have to steal that idea.
Yep, I second the wire baskets (Ikea?). I like them better than my train racks.
The rest is beautiful, too. Love the gray.
Love the clock, where is it from? I've been looking around for something similar
The grey with white trim looks great! I did something similar in my living room (slightly lighter, more blue grey-- Valspar's Gravity). The white makes all the architectural details pop.
Wonderfully done. I especially like the dining settle and wall... the white with grey. You have the knack ;)
Love the gray! It's masculine without being offputting -- still lovely and warm.
As a fellow Baton Rougean, I must say your home is lovely...
phillyMichelle: I think the clock is the Metropolis wall clock from CB2.
Hey Guys, thanks for all the comments, the wall colors are Valspar's Chromium (Lighter Gray) and Pewter (Darker Gray) in Semi-Gloss. The wall clock is the Metropolis clock from CB2. The racks in the bathroom were a thrift store find, if anyone knows where to find something similar please let me know. They are great, and would love to have more.
LOVE the baskets in the bathroom. Looks great against the gray wall. Makes the towels look like art.
Hey Guys, You can see the rest of the house photos here!

THIS IS SUCH A GEM.
baton rouge represent. nice job.
Very inspiring!
and hello from Shreveport.
Like you had to tell us you were a Graphic Designer with that clock over the mantle! Second clue: the rolled towels in the wire basket. :)
Great job all around.
And Hunter is a HOT name.
Really nice, I am not a Graphic Designer so not getting clock over the mantle...
Hunter, your house looks absolutely fabulous! Congrats on such a great accomplishment! It really looks fantastic, and I'm very impressed! Congrats again!
If you are looking for baskets.......There are old locker baskets that are smiliar to your baskets on the wall. They aren't as large, but they have cool numbers on them. They run from $15 - $25 depending on where you find them. They are all over the place. I got mine at the Palmer Event Center in Austin during the City Wide Garage Sale.
i like the pumpkins in the fireplace
Two months? Wow!
I moved four months ago and I am still wishing I could get the time and energy to stack boxes in some sort of order BEFORE I empty them. How could one person clean, paint and organise so much in two months - with a full time job???
Impressive.
Love it! Thanks for sharing! I moved into my apartment in August and it doesn't look half this good.
looks great hunter! you're an inspiration to me, my bf and i bought our place 2 months ago too, and we're "close" to being as done as you. i thought we seemed way behind. we also did most of the work ourselves, and it was no easy feat. u must be psyched that its done before the holidays :)
Great job. Makes grey look great. Not always the easiest color to work with.
See, I love the clock above the fireplace. Great job. I like how you made the grey work. Congrats!
My favorite thing is the built-in bench in the dining room. I am guessing there's storage under there, which is brilliant, and it adds seating, and it also makes the dining room feel comfy, which most dining rooms aren't.
I am going to copy the bathroom baskets as well. For my space, I am going to use Container Store Elfa drawers in platinum--either the x-narrow or narrow. While they don't have the worn-look, the size and shape fits the bill!
Love the gray, but is it the same gray color in every room? LOVE the office!
PLEASE - Where is the gray headboard from in the bedroom? Thanks!

I made it myself...more photos of it here, and it's a pretty simple DIY
