If, like us, you have a ho-hum kids table and chairs or, like Kate, a thrifted, hodge podge set we're certain you'll be inspired by this fabulous makeover. It's not only terrific looking, but her use of chalkboard paint opens up tons of possibilities for play.
First, three cheers to Kate for recognizing the great potential these thrift shop items had (and she scored them for around $25 total!). Second, wild applause for the execution of this makeover. Choosing a paint color to coordinate with the fabric ties transforms this mismatched set into a harmonious trio.
So far Kate's 4-year-old son has enjoyed drawing roads and playing cars on his new table and we're sure he'll think of dozens of other ways to have chalky fun here. Visit Kate at Centsational Girl for photos and a description of the whole transformation. If you haven't checked out Censtational Girl before, set aside some time for a visit - there's so much inspiration (not to mention help/tutorials) here.
Thanks Kate!

Very pretty. I keep forgetting that you can buy chalkboard paint in different colors. I like that it's a subtle quiet sort of shade.
I want to do this!
