Chaise Hunting...

Okay, I will have to admit it I am in the process of re-decorating my living room again!

I decided I was going to look for a chaise/day bed. With my challenges of a sofa always looking too big in my living room I thought a modern chaise would be the best alternative.

I remembered Bahay Home had a wonderful small sofa/chaise that I thought about purchasing. I also knew I could have something custom made through my sofa manufacturer. But figured if I go on the hunt myself I was sure I could find it faster.

I had already purchased some coral colored mohair fabric that I found downtown and decided I would cover the day bed/chaise in it.

So the hunt started...I scoured Craigslist, Ebay, and my local vintage shops and came up with nothing. Until one day I found this odd looking chaise on Craigslist.

It just so happened to be located right up the street from me and the picture you are looking at is exactly what I saw. It was on the floor, had no legs, was totally stained and I am sure it had seen better days.

But I saw the full potential in it and knew it would fit perfect in my living room. I bought it and took it directly to my upholsterer.

So last Saturday I had it delivered and it really looks great.

Since there were no legs attached to it, I bought an extra set at Ikea. And from what the previous owner said, it was actually a chaise from Ikea that they no longer carry.
