We like the new lighting designs from Niche Modern. Continuing with their established aesthetic, Niche Modern's hand blown glass lighting for 2007 somehow manages to feel both totally modern and antique simultaneously. Check out the closeup of one of the new pendants below the jump...

Stargazer
Color range: ambers, graEÖþ@8Ï}Èg¸‚Bv°2nd reds which feel deep and dramatic. The organic shapes are elegant and pleasing - once again, the forms feel like they could be from the past, yet are fresh. The unusual bulbs and the way that they are featured really make these work for us.

I love these.... but their impracticalities would prevent me form ever having them in my home. The bulbs are hard to get (Devon Hardware does stock them), and the dust would pile up on the inside. I have had simular lamps in the past that required too much upkeep to maintain the pristine beauty.
gorgeous, and you're absolutely right about their old-but-new aesthetic, which is so much better than all of the new-but-old that is going around (i don't care how cute they are, plastic coated antique furniture in hot pink and blue is just wrong)...i also think these would be worth every effort to maintain; im more concerned about where im going to hang them...
Actually, Niche stocks the bulbs and sells them. I think you can even order them online. And I guess it's a matter of opinion, but I have to clean all of my fixtures, even the standard-issue apartment renter fixtures. These lamps are actually super easy to clean
