What do you think of the Spring 2008 collection by Lawson-Fenning for Nurseryworks? We were slightly surprised by the traditional vibe on items like this Empire Rocker. It's more than a subtle departure from the clean, modern lines of the Sleepytime Rocker.
Other items included this Vale Headboard. Quite lovely, it comes in microsuede, twill, or velvet in a range of colors from mocha and slate to citrus or rosette (pictured here).
The Harvard Headboard has spindles on either side.
And don't forget the Spindle Crib where those same spindles reappear.
Richer textures and colors make this line compatible with a home furnished by Anthropologie or Brocade Home. Are these pioneers of modern nursery design paving the way for even more variety in modern nursery decor? What do you guys think? Are you feeling it?

I am definitely feeling it. I think these pieces are a beautiful way to add softness to a very modern nursery while still maintaining some sort of minimalist quality.
I'm not really there... it seems a strange juxtaposition of elements. I'd rather combine classic elements (a Jenny Lind crib, for instance) with clean modern pieces and create the "vintage modern" vibe that way.
I'd park my butt in that first chair happily. Like the first headboard but the second one is a pass.
Love it. I'd prefer the second headboard with the wood accents removed and the upholstered headboard enlarged. I am excited to see traditional forms updated in a way that allows them to be incoporated into modern designs. It's a nice departure from the all modern look- it adds depth and interest, in my opinion.
I'm not a fan at all, especially of the second headboard. I don't get it.

I like the Empire Rocker--it's a interesting combination of modern and traditional. I don't like the others very much, especially the second headboard. I own a Sleepytime rocker, I hope they're not completely getting away from their roots!

Slick rocker. it looks super comfortable and it's got great lines. I would put that in my living room and that dresser thing in the picture with the rocker looks cool. anybody know where I can find more pictures of that? I don't need any baby furniture, but I like those big spindle things on the headboard and crib. it's modern but it's kind of soft.
Love the Rocker! So glad I haven't gotten a glider yet for the new baby!
