Upon returning back from ICFF, many people have asked what was the biggest trend we saw at the show. And although there was a wide gamut of forms, finishes and inspiration, the one trend that sprouted up to our attention was a "woodlands" decor, refreshed with an infusion of modernist refinement.
It's interesting to note that this trend originated from the more niche DIY/crafting scene, and now has infiltrated into fine home wares. It only seems natural, since nature-as-influence coincides with the movement toward sustainable manufacturing and materials in home furnishings. In either case, we liked seeing designers bringing the beauty of nature indoors, because we'd argue that nature itself remains the best designer of them all.
