Speakers are pretty important when you spend a lot of time on your computer. The sound quality that comes directly from a laptop isn't the best, and if you have a desktop &mdash well, you have no option but to get speakers. When we look at speakers, we pay close attention to aesthetics.

The ICIC System of Computer Speakers were designed by Lukasz Natkaniec and are some of the sleekest looking speakers we've seen in a while. They're not fancy or pack a huge punch &mdash but they look great.
Unfortunately there isn't much information available on these gems, but that didn't stop us from wanting to share them. They serve a main purpose, distribute sound up and out and they look like they'd do a great job. We're assuming they would connect USB (like most speakers do), and the volume control is located on the bottom left while the power button is on the back.
We really like the simple square shape. There aren't very many square speakers on the market &mdash most are rectangular or circular. We've mentioned in the past that we appreciate when products are designed similarly to Apple products and these speakers would look great next to our Macbook.

Really? Most speakers connect via USB?
While there are some USB speakers, I would say the overwhelming majority of speakers sold for use with computers connect to the audio-out port (3.5mm audio jack).
Love these. Stylish, but not in that gimmicky way that most designy computer speakers are. In fact, I'd rank them right up there with Orb Audio and classic Bang & Olufsen.
@secretagent Not sure why, but most computer speakers made after 2002 are USB. Probably has to do with increased placement options.
Daniel, I agree with secret_agent. Where are you getting this info that most speakers after 2002 are USB? I can walk into any computer store and tell you that most speakers do not use USB. Most speakers use 3.5mm connectors.
I worked for Apple retail for about 5 years. I remember around 2001-2002, there was a push towards USB audio, but it failed. I had a G4 Cube (seriously, and still have it in my closet) and one of the "features" was no 3.5mm audio jack, only audio was USB. It actually slowed the computer down. When I played games, I had to pull the USB speakers to get better frame rates. The feature was so unpopular that the nicest USB speakers at the time, the HK Soundsticks actually "upgraded" to a 3.5mm jack in their second generation. Today, I've noticed USB speakers are sometimes billed as "mobile" because they are powered off the USB bus, but they're not ideal for everyday use.
I'm only explaining this because, while I love the design points on this site, I often notice lax research with tech details. Not a big deal, but research could be tighter. Us geeks are sensitive about this stuff!
Too bad they'll never be made :(
I stand corrected.
