Q: This is Henry's nursery. Now that he is here, we wanted to put something personalized with his name up in the blank space above the changing table, but we cannot find anything we like. Can anyone help?

Hello! I make wall art for kids rooms and have a popular custom name line that would look great in Henry's nursery. I started making custom name artwork when I couldn't find anything that wasn't too cutesy or childish for my own daughter's rooms. I focus on a modern typeface on appealing colors- the image is printed onto canvas and mounted on a museum quality archival panel. It can then be simply hung from the wall or it can sit on that little shelf.
celebrate that name!

I think a giant H would look amazing! And really complement the rest of the decor on the walls.
I love the old-fashioned stichwork announcements with name, birthdate, etc. Some of the kits are kind of cheesy, but my sister found a cool modern one at the needlework store. She framed it with a wide mat and heavy frame and it's the focal point of the room.
PennyPeople on etsy make great customized alphabet art with the name on top. www.etsy.com/shop/pennypeople
Doesn't look like you have tons of room up there but I love these personalized animal letter prints:

I make banners with the child's name on them-you can even choose the fabrics. You could hang it from wall to wall in one of the corners of the room.

But there's also this-I ordered one for my daughter's room and love it:

We also have a Henry, and for each of our three kids I have done a search on eBay for "vintage sign letter" and looked for a big lovely initial to put on each wall. I did a blog post about it here: http://worldofjulie.com/?p=531 (where you can see photos of the signs I managed to get). Sometimes I'm tempted to go a little nuts with the personalization thing, but I think one big initial is nice, and won't ever be too babyish.
Here are my tutorials on how to make pennant name banners/buntings:
http://babytoolkit.blogspot.com/search?q=bunting
The first one uses freezer paper stencils (which are super easy) and very basic sewing (one straight line). The second one uses fabric applique technique and is a little more difficult (advanced beginner).
Making your own is (1) VERY CHEAP and (2) allows you to greatest latitude in fabric choices and end look. Plus, if you make one with timeless fabrics, it's a nice touch for birthday and other celebrations well into adulthood.
we have a series of animal alphabet prints that you could use for little henry's monogram. the prints were inspired by modern quilts and illuminated manuscripts, the patterns are from our Places I Have Never Been collection. I bought one for each of my kids as they have names that are not mainstream. The prints are AMAZING, the colours are super cool and the store was fantastic to work with. We get so many compliments on these prints that I've started giving them out as baby gifts.
sometimes anthropologie has really cool wall letters. also do a search for wall decals or monogram wall decals at etsy.com and you will get a lot of choices to choose from
How about a Birth Date Keepsake print? This print is 100% personalized for your son and will include key birth stats as well as Daddy and Mommy's names. The colors can be customized to suit your decor as well.

I print these on archival-safe premium glossy photo paper as it is meant to be a keepsake print, and the choice of paper really allows the vibrance of colors to show well.

Hello,
I make embroidered wall jewels. Most of them are reversible with a touch of LOVE.
You can view them at;

as a gift some one went to hobby lobby and bought wooden letters painted brown and used browns and green paper to cover the front of the letters that spelled out our last name.
you can buy kits of plaster for hand / foot prints. ink hand print would be cute. i got a photo of my mom as a kid infront of the alamo inlarged for our baby room...some how it adds a personal touch. there are also etsy artists that can take a photo of your son (or pet or family) and paint it...super cool. oh and silhouettes are the big thing right now.
also a personlized plate, that he could eat off of when he was older, would be cute right there. http://www.posylane.com/lipstick-shades-personalized-childrens-plates.htm
We bought the same "Learn to Pitch Like a Pro" poster - where did you get the frame? I have had no luck finding a dark brown frame to fit that poster size!
chabuki, i had the poster framed at joann fabrics. take advantage of those 60% off custom framing coupons to save some money!!! :)
