Q: I found and purchased four of these pressed wood chairs on Craigslist several years ago. The woman I bought them from told me her partner had acquired them from Macy's in NYC, where they had been used as props in a window display decades before.

Two of them are the natural wood color shown, and two of them are stained green beneath their varnish. All four are stamped with the emblem shown, but no matter where I search online I am unable to find anything like them or their emblem for a clue as to their origin. I assume from their style that they may be from the 60s, but I'd love to know who made them and to figure out what vintage they are (if they are) for sure. Any information (or even educated guesses) would be appreciated!

White Enamel Four-P...
What a nice piece! I am fond of old style chairs. You are lucky that you can have that one :) Anyway, I have never seen a chair like this.
How about contacting Macy's to see if they can give you any information? Sorry I can't offer anything else. The chairs are nice. I'd be interested in seeing what kind of table you are using them with or if you are using them as accents in the living room or bedroom areas.
Those are wild; four of them, I'm envious! I think they're older than the '60s; My gut says late '40s or '50s, but I don't know; I'd just be happy to have them. Nice!
Danish? I looked everywhichway myself...'King Harold', "Crown Harold' Harold Crown..arghh..someone here will know for sure!
I was poking around and found something called Klismos style chair. I did a Google search and it seems like the legs on your chairs fit the bill. No luck on the maker though. I did see this site. At the bottom of the article he welcomes photos and questions. He might be able to help you out? Neat chairs! Good luck!

Mid-century? Maple? There are some great threads at woodworking.com to help identify wood and makers' marks -- a google search of "furniture maker marks" might find something too. And you can always send the pic to various antiques dealers to find out...a good place to start is http://www.cabinetmakersearch.com/. Hope that helps!

Perhaps they were custom made specially for the window display.
Lovely chairs! They make me think or daisies :)
Antique Roadshow would know!
It reminds me of famous polish designer Teresa Kruszewska - maybe it is her design.
She created collection of furnitures in 70's called "stokrotka" (daisy) here is the link: http://designby.pl/kolekcja/17/w-stokrotce-sila
Boy, Zu! Her stuff looks just about spot on!
Thanks to everyone for the leads!
Zu, that chair does look very similar. I'm excited to delve deeper into her work and inspiration (when it's not Thanksgiving).
GIT, the chairs are serving as our dining room table seating currently. They're surrounding an old drop-leaf table, but its not particularly exciting as a combination. Eventually they will be replaced with ghost chairs and an extremely rustic farm house table, and will become accent seating for parties.
Further ideas and information is always appreciated. This has been a mystery to me for several years now. I'll update if I find their origin. Thanks again!

Whatever they are, I love them and am totally jealous!
