Seems to be Lucas Isawa... He uses bamboo and paper in his pieces. In 2009 I saw an great exibition of his work here, Brasília, Brasil.

Back when I was an art teacher, we made little sculptures that could have grown up into this kind of lamp! We just used basket-making reed, thread with white glue to attach it to itself when forming shapes, and tissue paper glued across some planes. For something this large and functional, I think I'd find mulberry paper or some other stronger-than-tissue type of paper, but it would be easy enough to craft.
Mr. Hodre's work is even more beautiful in person.
