As I walked the halls, I tried to imagine myself living in this enormous, grand space. Not practical for today at all (I mean, the cleaning!), but I still would like to imagine having the opportunity to decorate the space for a modern resident. Here are some rooms that I would love to see make it inside — I imagine a mix of modern with Louis XIV details and a hint of Marie Antoinette's colorful garden. Enjoy.

Sheex Bedding
Go see the film "The Queen of Versailles". Tragi-comic, but she attempts to recreate it and decorate around it. Gah.
LOVE those drapes in the second photo.
Your furniture choices aren't large enough. They would look very tiny in those huge spaces.
You need visually heavy furniture that also won't fit in most houses.
i have been forever in search of a bedframe like the first one. does anyone know a place to get one, other than scouring craigslist/antique stores/etc?
It's weird when 4 pictures you've pinned come up on AT in two weeks.
Actually Versailles was decorated in silver, not the typical Louis XIV gilded pieces you would expect. Most was sold off or melted down to help fund the military. There are some surviving pieces in the royal collections in England and the Netherlands and in the collection of The Kremlin.

Wonderful AT-ers, what kind of fabric do you think they used?
