A daughter's bedroom or guest room at Marie Antoinette's Petit Trianon
This past weekend, I made my first trip to the Palace of Versailles. While it was impressive from the exterior, I was slightly disappointed by the lack of furniture inside (granted, much of it didn't survive the French Revolution, but replicas would have been nice).
As I walked the halls, I tried to imagine myself living in this enormous, grand space. Not practical for today at all (I mean, the cleaning!), but I still would like to imagine having the opportunity to decorate the space for a modern resident. Here are some rooms that I would love to see make it inside — I imagine a mix of modern with Louis XIV details and a hint of Marie Antoinette's colorful garden. Enjoy.
