Pieces from the HEDDA Textile CollectionOur first impression of the new IKEA catalog was the front and center, no holds barred use of pattern - so in addition to our post first thing this morning on the general look and feel, we've pulled some more photos of the textiles and patterns. Some we like and plenty, not so much, but we do like the general movement toward fearlessness and color - a little bit of joy for the home.

I just got back from a New Jersey Ikea last night and I have to say that all I ended up buying were textiles! The choices right now are so up to date and attractive I couldn't resist. Plus, if you have a solid color piece of furniture by them with slipcovers or something, chances are the dyes in the new textile bolts match perfectly!

I've shopped at IKEA for a few things here and there: a couch, some lighting, our bedframe. But all through the catalog. I have been to one IKEA store, in Chicago. But now....
The count down begins. Two months till we have IKEA in Florida!! I can't wait. I've waited for five years! It occupies all my thoughts....
I had to laugh when I saw the top photo.
With a new house and a desire to lighten and brighten the living room, I already own half of the HEDDA products shown! I love the fresh green patterns.
With a whole house to do, IKEA gives you good first broad strokes through all the rooms, then you can go back and refine later as needed.
