Yesterday we had the opportunity to check out the 2011 Ikea Catalog and we love the new home office solutions. Four solutions in particular caught our eye, some just perfect for studio apartments and those that want a workspace for their laptop but really don't have the space for a desk.

One of the standout favorites is a much needed update to the tried and true Dave laptop stand. The new Dave is sleeker and has some great space for wire management. We also love how we can close the stand when we are not using it as a laptop desk and instead have it function as a great accent table, hiding away our messy notes and laptop. As an at home blogger, this is the perfect desk for us since we tend to do most of our work while sitting in our favorite chair in the living room. We don't have the space or a need for a proper desk and the Dave is really the workspace for us. The new Dave will come in black and white, and if the white looks half as good as the black that was on display we will be picking up one of these for our apartment.
For those looking for a larger desk, the new Vika Amon desk option is a good choice. We thought the showroom did a great job of showing how to maximize space with the wall mounted Vika Amon, turning it into a workspace for two.

Another new item built for the small space home office is the Ludvig. This wall mounted desk was at first glance mistaken for a shelf. Just the right size for a laptop, Ludvig slides away from the wall to reveal space for wires. We think the built in wire management is clever and the Ludvig is a lot of bang for your buck, especially when you need an unobtrusive workspace.
The Micke works well as a workspace for either a desktop or a laptop. With options that include a rolling printer stand with drawers, it is versatile yet perfect for a small space. The Micke is available in several colors including our personal favorite, white and navy.
What items are you the most excited about in the new catalog?

I got the little Micke drawer cart a couple of months ago, in white and orange. Looks fantastic, and the build quality is shockingly high (for IKEA, for the price). Love it so far.
I'm disappointed by the Dave redesign. I liked the simplicity and light weight of the original. It was a table I could pull right up to me and work on when I needed it, or I could put to the side and use a side table. This one is so overdesigned that it needs to be named something else.
They still have the simple Dave laptop table. I like the more complicated Dave in white but it is too small for my 17" laptop. :(
What is the desk in the 6th picture? It looks like an intriguing alternative to the Besta Burs desk. Can anyone identify its name and/or dimensions? When is this stuff coming to stores?
@Scoot: Sounds like it's a wall-mounted Vika Amon desktop.

Thanks, I guess I should read the post next time :)
