Kanye West keeps fanning the flames of a potential IKEA collaboration. The rapper/clothing designer talked about it on BBC radio this week. But IKEA Australia was quick to overshadow the interview with a hilarious Facebook post.
The rumors started in March when Kanye stopped by IKEA HQ in Älmhult. On Monday, Kanye was on Annie Mac's BBC 1 radio show, and said this about the Swedish giant: "I have to work with Ikea – make furniture for interior design, for architecture. Yo Ikea, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes."
Yesterday, IKEA Australia posted this to its Facebook page:
If you haven't seen Kanye's video for Famous, there's a part when a bunch of naked wax figures of celebrities are in a giant bed. Well played, IKEA.
There's a little shade in the caption, too. IKEA writes: "Hej Kanye, we'd love to see what you'd create…we could make you Famous!" It seems to be a reference to Kanye's line about Taylor Swift, which has since reignited a Twitter feud, prompted a Snapchat reveal, and basically had half of Hollywood choosing sides. Does this mean IKEA is Team Taylor? Maybe she'll get a collab instead.
