More news on IKEA's expansion beyond furniture: the brand is now looking to build 100 budget hotels across Europe. Inter Ikea, who owns the intellectual property rights for the Swedish furniture giant, is considering sites for its budget design hotels, mainly where it's already active in real estate, such as the UK and the Netherlands. The hotels will not have the IKEA name, and will be run by established hotel operators. They are also considering building student dorms.
