We are so late to the game. We know that AT:NY, AT:LA (which used our favorite page -- don't miss the hot pink door), and AT:Chicago all blogged the new IKEA catalog eons ago, but we just didn't have time to flip through it until last night.
(And besides, it took us a while to get over being perturbed at the disconnect between IKEA's "green" marketing (see here and here) and their mailing out unsolicited catalogs to post office boxes and including them with newspaper deliveries.) We're done venting, so here are our finds:
The MANDAL Headboard ($149) (solid pine) has an interesting look when several of them are stacked.
We wonder how the MANDAL Queen Bed Frame with Storage Boxes ($299) (solid pine) looks in person.
The MOLGER Cabinet with Mirrored Door ($49.99) may not be brand new, but we still like it.
If you don't have an actual closet, you can at least hide your stuff with the STARK Hall Unit ($99.99).
We like the way they used a STATLIG Shelf (listed at $29.99 in the catalog and $19.99 online) and STILIG Bracket ($6) as a table here.
SYNTES SKISS Bowls ($2.99/set of 2, $3.99/set of 2) add a pop of color to your table.

Well, they save on greenness by NOT sending me a catalog, no matter HOW many times I request them!
I, too, have been eying the Mandal headboard. However, there's no indication in the catalog as whether one can buy more shelves or shelves of different lengths.
I think the Mandal headboard looks like a great way to add books to a room without taking up precious floor space, like the Umbra Conceal bookshelves that we got when the Sapien Bookcase proved too expensive for our guest room remodel. But I wonder a bit about the wisdom of stacking books (or what have you) above one's head in an earthquake zone...
I do like the headboard, but I wonder how many shelves I can put on there and how much weight it can hold. (I've got lots of books!)
I want it as a backdrop for my collection of wooden Santos.

the bowls are a bit of a tempermental purchase. after returning home i found that the interior coloured parts were fractured in several of the the bowls. sometimes you can't see the fracture until you pour a dark liquid in and it seeps into the cracks.
that headboard is awesome.
Aw, and I was so happy that I didn't have to scramble and try to get a catalog before they all disappeared! There it was in my mailbox...
I love the headboard too! Just came in at our local IKEA (Greece) and will try and emulate the stacked look they did in the catalogue. But will have to wait until Xmas to do it, sigh!
I loved that headboard, but I thought it was too overpriced to get that effect. Loved the look though.
