We've tried many different ways to organize the back seat of our car. With young ones in car seats, it's a struggle to keep their books, toys, snacks, and other items neat and tidy.
While searching for a solution, we came upon this idea to use the IKEA Flort as a car seat organizer. Have you ever seen the Flort at IKEA? It's a remote control organizer/holder for the house. Elizabeth of The Odd Mom Out realized that the Flort would be perfect as an organizer for her childrens' car seats. We love seeing colored pencils, video games, and notebooks all tucked away neatly in their place.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Great idea, especially for long trips.
I love this idea, but caution against putting anything in or around a carseat that might compromise its efficacy. I do not know whether this particular idea might compromise safety, however...
The after market seat protectors you can buy aren't recommended, by car seat safety experts. I don't see how this would be any different. It's a nice idea, but I don't think it's safe.
actually it's very thin so it's probably OK on that front, but what is not OK are unsecured items in the car. they become projectiles in an accident. In theory you shouldn't have anything in the "cabin" of the car that can amove, and have everything in the trunk or tied down/.under a cargo cover. I will own up that I don't manage this all the time, it's not easy!
