Ikea markets the Gorm shelf as lowly secondary shelving for the pantry or garage. Well, take a look at this makeover, Ikea. We think this transformed Gorm belongs in the living room, office, or even a lucky kid's room.

Shauntelle from A Beautiful Abode snagged a $15 Gorm off Craigslist and with some silver spray paint, wood stain, and some boards, turned it into this amazing industrial chic shelf. Her inspiration was a $1,495 salvaged wood shelf from Hudson Goods, but for just a fraction of the cost, she pulled off one of the most amazing Ikea hacks we've ever seen. Well done, Shauntelle! Check out her blog, A Beautiful Abode, for more pictures and Ikea Hackers for her complete tutorial.

thats pretty cool!
fabulous - the silver spray paint looks amazing.
holy crap.
i meant that in the best possible way.
I'm not convinced...
Sharp. I thought the silver paint was metal at first glance.
This could probably be done with real sheet metal for not too much more, fwiw, but I like it either way.
Very ambitious, looks great!
