Designers Guild has historically done some of the fanciest bold fabrics around, but they have recently teamed up with IKEA slipcover-maker Bemz to bring that easily-accessible product a strong dose of designer style.

These textile designs have a Swedish sensibility to them, with more curvilinear forms and more colors per pattern than Tricia Guild usually puts together. But we love how well the designs fit the IKEA sofas, both in shape and in feeling.

White Enamel Flatwa...
It's great to see multiple bold patterns in a room and gives me inspiration to bear an IKEA visit...
I'd love to see these as fabric that could be purchased by the yard at the store.
They're just so expensive...
Tricia Guild's coffee table books are wonderfully colorful.
Like Ikea... those fabrics...not so much.
They might work well in a pediatricians waiting room.
I was so excited to see this post until I clicked through to see the prices . . . the slipcovers cost twice as much as the couches underneath!
Who would ever pay that much to cover a cheap Ikea couch? For that price just buy a better couch.
word of warning: I splurged and got a Marimekko slipcover for a stool - bit of an indulgence but it does look fabulous. Stool was on sale for $19, slipcover was $59, shipping was another $29 and then today, 2 months after receiving it, I got another $50 bill from the courier company for duty and brokerage fees. Ouch.
lesson here: send it to a friend in EU and have them ship it to you privately. So not worth it otherwise.
