What do you you when you invest time and creative energy into building a play kitchen... but then your kids start to physically outgrow it? If you're Ohdeedoh reader Stephanie, whose daughter Savannah's kitchen was featured here last summer, the answer is simple: you renovate!
The kids were getting too big to play in the nook beneath the stairs, where the play kitchen was originally housed, so Stephanie and her husband relocated it, then raised it by building storage beneath it. Brilliant! Says Stephanie, "Once I find a chalkboard decal, for writing up a cafe menu, it'll be almost complete!"
Thanks for sharing, Stephanie!

Smart idea! We're planning our own play kitchen and trying to figure out a good counter height that will work for our toddler son now as well as in a year or two. So it's good to have this idea in our back pocket for when he grows
Thanks!
Way to go Steph!! Looks awesome :)
Where did she get that adorable teacup garland. Did she make it?
Hi ruthie144 yes I made it using red/white twine strung with scrapbook paper outlines of a teapot and teacups - easy peasy and the kids love it! I used a scalpel to cut out the tricky parts like the teapcup handles....
