Here's a late afternoon diversion for those of you who frequent our favourite IKEA in Burbank. Apparently a small crew of independent filmmakers shot this web short on location at the IKEA Burbank on the fly. Is it any good? We'll leave that up to you, but you'll probably have as much fun as we did watching for actual customers unwittingly walking into scenes and their curious expressions...
We've heard of plenty of stranger shenanigans that happen at IKEAs, including marriage proposals, makeout sessions and even birthday parties with large groups appearing fully equipped with cake and party favors, celebrating inside showrooms setups and then departing right afterward. Guess us Americans are just as strange as our Chinese counterparts with our love of living at IKEA.

The best is when they get caught in episode 3, but somehow they manage to keep it going for episode 4. It's a pretty funny show.
I love it!
Wow this is just a bore. Not even bad enough to be entertaining.
Hilarious!
I love it because I'm thrilled to see artists/people claiming private space for public use.
I worked for a long time as a photojournalist and it frustrated the hell out of me to be continually asked to leave places like malls and big box stores because they were "private property." Because more than ever, these are the places where we work, spend leisure time...spend more and more of our lives, so artists and journalists need access!
I think this is adorable and brilliant.
Too bad it's just like a soap opera and not much fun, because it could have been hilarious, it was close.
Great... but like so much in life, it needs a cat.
and Candy is yummy! She's got a kind of '67 Grace Slick thing going on. Meow!
Oh, that is soooo funny! It looks like it must have been a blast to make that. So ridiculous!
Any kind of distraction in IKEA is welcome
Another Ikea commercial. How much do you guys get from them?
Man, I never see people sneer, "So how much does FLOR pay you guys? How much does Ben Moore give you?"
I thought the video was cute, though a little too much like something kids in the A/V club would throw together. And the soap opera format is perfect--the baroque story lines and overwrought acting are more ridiculous against the backdrop of IKEA, dangling price tags and all.
I recommend Israeli artist Guy Ben-Ner's "sitcom" Stealing Beauty, also shot in IKEA & starring his family.

I absolutely love, LOVE Ikea, but this is just boring. Although, I did laugh a couple of times just because of the thought of filming while people are around the store and picturing my husband and I acting out scenes in our local Ikea. Not for me, but good job anyhow.
thanks, brianlfrye!
I was going to post a link, too.
I think guy did this first.
What fun!!!!
Big ups to Stealing Beauty!
Haha! Very cheesy but funny! Great lil B movie :)
why can't there be kid friendly ones :(
