Two greats together at last! Introducing the IKEA iPhone app — now you don't have to wait (and wait) for the catalog to come in the mail. Click through for a preview video.
The app allows you to scroll through rooms, zoom in for a closer look, then click on furniture you'd like to buy. Watch a sneak peak:
Planning your bathroom on the bus, choosing curtains at the bank, or picking out your coffee table at the coffee shop.
Don't get too excited yet, the IKAPP (self-named) will first be launched in the UK. But with any success we'll see it on our American phones soon.

GAH I WANT IT NOW!
Bliss!!!!!!!
the app is available and operational on my USA ipod touch.
granted, it has prices in pounds.
additionally, there's no actual functionality in it, that is, there are no links to the site to buy anything, or ways to bookmark items or pages, share anything, etc.
but it's not bad. it does deliver on its promise: a much smaller full IKEA catalog.
Yeah I downloaded it anyway for quick reference even though the prices are in pounds. Maybe further development could include a wishlist and a tracker when going through the store that updates from their database the isle and bin number! woo!
If you can afford an iPhone, you can afford better quality furniture than IKEA...
Wanna know what ticks me off? No? I'll tell you anyway. What ticks me off: The Ikea site still doesn't have a Mac-compatible kitchen planner tool, but now it has an iPhone app. Hello? Bueller?
Yes I can afford better furniture than IKEA and I do have nice furniture, but there are some IKEA things I still love.
And iPhones are not THAT expensive.
