As one of IKEA's plainest and cheapest pieces, the RAST is the subject of many a hack. Jessica gave hers a combo of high gloss, height, and studded detail:
You can find dozens of RAST hacks on the internet, so I wanted to be sure mine really fit my personal style. I painted the inexpensive dresser with oil paint for a high gloss shine, and added nail head trim and low-profile drawer pulls. I added a bottom to the dresser to give me a place to attach the 12" tapered legs. Setting the piece up on those legs makes it less squat and bulky. I think this IKEA hack fits in perfectly with my vintage modern style!
